On Friday night, Adam was allowed to watch the movie about 9/11 "United 93"- I cautioned him that it may bother him afterwards, might interfere with his sleep, etc. He understood, was sure it would be fine and watched the whole thing- very moving for him but he found it very interesting.

After I tucked him in that night, I came back to the room to see how it was going. There lies Adam, eyes as big as saucers staring off into the night.
I knew it, he can't sleep.....so I say "Adam, is it the movie you are thinking about?" and he says plaintively, "No Mom, it's not the movie, I am thinking about the little short lady on display at the Hebron Harvest Fair, she was so gross." I didn't see her but I laughed so hard because she has dogged his memory for so long now- that was October. She is a 24" tall Haitian woman that is brought around to fairs and people are charged $2 to see her. So sad. Anyway, Adam is scarred, not by the 9/11 movie but by the $2 short lady. I teased him that she was going to come and rub his cheek till he went to sleep. I know, great parenting at work................
