a permanent record

The Terrible Two's are drawing to a turbulent close. In August he will be 3 and I just know that he will instantly turn into a well behaved, obedient little angel. He has his amazingly sweet, funny and overwhelmingly cute moments. Unfortunately, those moments are well timed, you would be surprised at the sophisticated planning that goes into some of his cutest moments.

For example, I will use this incident at a recent ball game of Adam's. There was a spot near the game where Landon could run a little bit. It was just a little path leading through a grove of trees. If he went too far on that path it would lead to a parking lot. I had told him that it was too far to go so as he got closer to the parking lot (no activity in it) I told him to come back to me. Nothing, he just keeps on truckin'. "Landon, come back, you don't want me to have to come get you". He stops running, looks at me and raises his eyesbrows. I start towards him and decide to give him another chance, "If I have to come and get you that will mean that you can't go back on the path". He did not come, so I went over and scooped him up, told him that he now had to come and stand with me. (Horrors) and he looks me right in the eyes and says "Mom, I know I have that Pro-ba-lem" and throws his arms dramatically around my neck and says "But I love you VERY much".

That really happened. So there is no lack of brain waves, they just aren't being directed towards the obedience section of the brain. BUT, that will all change when he turns 3- I know it.

These are pics Adam snapped of the Kid in action:

Notice the ice cream sandwich. Where did it come from?

Grandma's freezer- he went in the back door, snagged the ice cream and walked away. He had only done it moments before so no harm was done to all of Grandma's filet mignons. Thank you Adam for the permant record. He is even wearing stripes.
