Workin' the land

Adam and Dave were unloading some topsoil for some of the bare spots on the lawn while I was BUSILY taking photos of Saff chewing on a baseball. I was laying on the freshly cut grass for a better view of the dog and then turned my attention to the kids working so hard. It was worth documenting. That's when Adam said "Mom, come and help us, put the camera away and help". I was shocked at the unmitigated gall of a minor child. So I stood up, brushed off the grass blades that had attached themselves to my sweater, put down the camera and began raking the topsoil. Adam mentioned that this work was actually fun and I agreed, reminding him that our family had been working this land for a century now. Again, the unmitigated gall of the minor child as he corrects me, "Mom, it's only been 8 years, that's more like .92 of a century". I decided to let it go, he confuses me with big numbers and decimals and all that.
