Handsome and Clean

• Landon has an earlier start to his school day today because of parent teacher meetings. I always warn him that I am going to have a shower so he isn't running around the house in a panic looking for me when I do not answer his calls. So this morning I said "land, I am going in the shower now because you go to school in one hour." His reply: "You want all the other mommys to think you are handsome and clean." He pauses and corrects himself, "no, just clean, just clean, yeah right, just clean."
  

• He was sitting atop a stack of pillows on one of the wingback chairs in our bedroom, and he leaned his head back, makes a biiiiig sigh and says "Ahhhh, I remember those days."
  

• This morning, I found him standing beside the toilet in the bathroom peeking out the blinds (with a little red ring around his bum from sitting.....terribly cute) and he looks back at me with big,  frightened eyes. I asked him what he saw. He catches his breath and says "I don't see anything, I just heard-ed a wildcat."  I was amused  because the wind is howling here and it makes kids imagine all manner of evil attacking the house. But wildcat- I know EXACTLY where that came from. DAD! When we were kids, that was my Dad's (still seems to be) his favorite scary animal to tell us stories about, (narrow escapes; scars that were really from nails and appendix surgery was attributed to the elusive wildcat...that was awesome Dad) Now Landon is experiencing it and it is so cute. I told him it was the wind and there were no wildcats out there today.  Brings back awesome memories :)
