Head Wounds and the chimp

Let's talk about Head-Wound-Prone-Syndrome. In layman's terms it is known as "someone's gonna lose an eye." The worst part of the syndrome is the alarming rate at which forehead injuries spurt blood.

Last year, Landon was bit by a cute little canine in an attack that was random and unexplained. Well, not really unexplained because Landon "had it coming", if I could say that without appearing like the world's worst mother. I was freaked about how close the bite came to his eye. Anyway- this healed up quickly on the outside and pretty much instantly on the inside. I do believe that Landon was pestering that dog again the same evening.



Then the forehead wound from sliding headfirst along the carpet into the wooden stair baluster. Ouch. It looked worse on the 4th day, when we were in Canada.

That's Heidi. She hasn't bit anyone in years.


And then the Great Bungee Cord incident. Landon had the bungee cord (bad toy idea) and decide to lock Adam or Dave in the bathroom by hooking the hook around the door handle. ***The details are murky and still emerging.*** The bungee cord did not hold and it sprang back, catching Landon in the forehead and right beside his eye. There was lots of blood, all running down onto his nose and cheeks, it was very pitiful. Now it is all swollen and yellowish. You'll notice his right eye is still recovering from a run-in with a foosball table. Poor guy- doesn't he look pitiful?


I do have some fun pics from vacation week; Adam made the honor roll again; and I'm dying to tell you about the chimpanzee attack that occurred in CT. I'm a little obsessed. I've gained much chimp knowledge in the last week. Just google it if you haven't heard about it as my family would like me to move on from the chimp already. Oh, and search YouTube for "chimp attacks". You will never look at a chimp the same way again.
