Landon watched ET with Maria on Friday evening- he loved it so much and was asking lots of questions about it such as "Have you ever seen ET on this earth?" I told him that I don't think I did. I've seen people that resembled ET but they were not actually him. He thought ET's bike-flying skillz were awesome. He was pretty tired out after that and zonked on the couch.

I took complete, indulgent, unabashed advantage of this rare opportunity to cuddle, touch, kiss and smother the fast asleep child. As I sat there looking at him and marveling at his huge size, I was wishing to capture the softness, the pudginess, the babyish contours and realized that I should be taking pictures of him. In the low light, the graininess that resulted would be appropriate. I remembered that Adam's camera was charged (mine isn't) and that he had my 50mm lens on his camera. It was all coming together. I cranked the ISO to 1600, set my aperture at 2.2 and started snapping.

First this one:

Then I noticed the lollipop all over his mouth. I hadn't noticed it in "real life". I just noticed his curvy little lips.

Then his cute little ears. Showing off his too-long hair.

His feet that are almost the same size as his sister's. She is three years older than him.
Then I realized that this was "mismatch" day at school and David wore socks that didn't match and paid $1 to do so. Landon wore mismatched socks and didn't pay anything to anyone.

Even though he was so sound asleep, when I tried to reposition his hand, it was grasping the couch very tightly and I couldn't move it.

That's my baby- so hard believe.

The end.
