We set out to build, oddly enough, a treehouse. It was a confused affair, with me debating whether or not I was going to break the news to Landon that we needed lumber and nails to build the treehouse he envisioned. I tried to steer him more towards the treehouse Kenny had built him in the fall but, no, he wanted a real treehouse. He got his snow shovel and wanted to dig a hole in the yard to stick a branch in- the cornerstone as it were. I told him Grandpa wouldn't like us digging in the yard. "Uh, Mooooom, it's our yard" he said with indignation. "But we share it with Grandpa." He counteracts with "Then I will glue it to the ground." I was beginning to think this was going to get ugly when he abruptly dropped the construction idea in favor of a walk across the runway.
A helicopter landed just then and luckily he had these binoculars which, if you look close you will notice, can be used forwards and backwards.

See, we aren't even dressed for construction work.
I'd love to know if you think he is exulting or exasperated in the following pic:

Because I may have or may not have been lagging behind him taking pictures of these weeds:

We were able to come to terms and he picked one of the weeds for me and said "you'll never guess what I picked for you" and since there were no other organic life forms nearby, I guessed. He said he picked it because I am the best mom. For Valentines.
