Adam helped me with dinner on Monday night. He took over one job..... shaping the turkey meatballs for me. I didn't even have to touch them at all, and he made them all with great care and concern. I was urging him to go faster and he said "Mom, this is how I do it" and he continued with his methodical meatball molding. He really did a neat, uniform job and I was happy to have them done properly without ever having to touch them. But I (ahem) made the rest of the dinner.
When dinner was served, Gord motioned for Adam to go ahead and give God thanks for our food. He often does this for us and that night he said his typical prayer but with a chuckle he added "and bless the hands that prepared it" onto the end. I don't think, for one second, that he meant my hands.
