A Tale of Love and Adventure
Long ago, back in the second month of the 1990's, a young man took his girlfriend to Epcot Center. It was her first time in Florida, so it was also her first time in the Disney Parks. She loved the parks and the Florida sun and of course, her honey.
After a busy day scooting between Epcot and Magic Kingdom, the pair settled in to a dinner at an Italian restaurant found in the Italy Pavilion. The usually talkative young man was very quiet at dinner. After dinner the girl excused herself to the restroom and they agreed to meet up again outside the restaurant. As the girl was exiting the restaurant, the young fellow was nowhere to be found. She was beginning to grow concerned when she spotted him sitting on a bench near an exquisite fountain.
As the sunset spilled off the Italian villa walls, the young man professed his love for her and asked her if she would marry him. While he asked the fateful question, he handed her a yellow rose he had taken from the restaurant bouquet. Inside the rose was a diamond ring. "Of course I will marry you" said she. (She was supposed to say "yes".) He slid the ring on her finger and off they went to the Mexican Pavilion for a romantic boat ride. From there they sailed off into their twenties; into children; into their thirties; into life with all its decisions and occasional rough surf, but the boat is still theirs and they are still sailing it together.
Should you ever happen upon them today, (they probably look about 20 years older), they would certainly tell you that February 16, 1990 was a great day in history and the beginning of a great tale of love and adventure.
