Remembering Gary

The kids had another day off yesterday as we had another huge amount of snow fall overnight. We were all home, including Gordie and we had a fun day. We had just finished cleaning up dinner when the phone rang. It was a call that brought sad and shocking news that Gord's boss and long time friend, Gary, had died from a heart attack.

This is a picture from his facebook page, but I did actually take this picture of them in their gorgeous backyard. His daughter was leaving for college the week after this pic was taken.

Please pray for his wife, Lorri and their daughter Casey.

Lorri asked Gordie to let the aviation people know about Gary's passing. He had to make lots of calls and each time say the words he could barely believe himself. It has been a huge shock to all of us.

As Gord sat in the chair in between calls, with his list of names to call, Landon brought him a chocolate chip cookie and said "sometimes a cookie makes me feel better".

Then he crawled into the chair to hug Gordie. And asked me to take a picture.

If you look closely, you can see that he has paint on his chest and hands from painting. And Sharpie chest hair. Chest hair drawn on with Sharpie.

So we took a "shirt on" pic....
