We went to see Gordie at work because there was a mockup of the Piper Jet. It was awesome!

See how wide that door is.

After leaving there we made our way to the USS Nautilus Museum. It is a great place, free admission and very friendly staff. The Nautilus was the first atomic submarine, christened in the 50's and retired in 1980. Lots of very interesting facts regarding this sub, including being the first sub to go under the North Pole. (Insert Cold War joke here).
Everything in the sub is vintage late 70's- so here we are in an photographic ode to the 70's.

Inside the actual museum, not the sub.

Duuuuuude, vintage sailors. And that's why all the mamas wanted to dress the boys in sailor suits.

Ahoy- I am just loving the giant sunglasses.

I recommend this museum highly for many reasons. But, if you are claustraphobic at all this is a claustrophobic experience. Duh, right? The doors to get between compartments are small and it is freaky! I was so happy to get out and walk out into the open air. Maura was freaked out by all the mannequins, she is sure that one's eyes moved. The boys loved it, just the girls were all girly about it.
We had a great day, we laughed most of the way home. There are very funny people in this family.
