Bringing you Post #14 for 2012

Maura loves to read the old posts and she laughs at all the funny things they said, it makes me seriously wish that I was still documenting all of that. I wish I was because they are still that funny, cute and photogenic.

Times change, we accept it and move on. (that sounds so easy)

Landon was a very cute Harry Potter for the "Trunk or Treat". If you don't know what that is, it's an event where parents decorate the trunk of their minivan, SUV, car or pickup and they assemble in a parking lot and the kids go from car to get their treats. We just treated, we did not "trunk". It was a fundraiser for the PTO and there was a raffle table. I LERVE raffle tables! We won a camping basket from Cabela's- excessive excitement levels- we thought we were the luckiest people on Earth. But that was on Thursday night at the school play. This was Friday night at Trunk or Treat. I spied a large Vera Bradley bag and put all 10 of my raffle tickets in that bucket. The next day around lunch time I got a call from the raffle coordinator saying that I had won. WOO-HOO- it was noon and I hadn't heard so I thought I did not win! I was on a winning streak! I won $1000 on the radio once- have I ever told you about that? It was 1992 and I worked with a country music nut......I'll save it for another time.

Landon asked me to draw a dragon tattoo for him. I said I couldn't draw a dragon, didn't know how. He says "google it". This is what we ended up with. Look at Landon's cute little hairy back.

We had company here this weekend for our Annual Bible Conference, I love having company for conference.  On Monday morning I glimpsed the sunlight glinting off the foyer chandy and noticed the lovely natural silken weave on the light. I was pleased to see that all God's creatures feel comfortable in my home and not AT ALL mortified at the housekeeping failure showcased in the foyer of my home.

On Wednesday we had a snow day. Our neighbor wasted no time getting her Arctic Cat out and tearing up and down the runway. The smell of snowmobile - favorite smell! If you can see Kona in the picture- that's as close as she would venture towards the "machine".

Here is my little helper man- he shovelled the walkway in front of the house- quite a long piece and then got in front our part of the house and the snow got too heavy for him. I thought he was so sweet to go out and shovel without anyone suggesting he do it.

This morning we were up with the birds to go and have blood drawn. Landon was brave, positive and cooperative as possible. Look at his rosy little ear in the picture here.

The butterfly needle was a little pinchy. The boy was still brave but somehow his body was not so sure about giving away all this blood, so early in the morning on a empty tummy. So his face, hands, ears and lips turned pale and the tech laid him down in a bed until he came back to feeling like himself again.

I do not know how I used to do this posting thing with decent photos and such. This little post has taken a full 2 hours to complete to this point.

I also love the smell of snowmobiles, brings me back to my CB days.
I really loved this post, and I often browse through your older posts just because.
