Memorial Day

In honor of Scott this Memorial Day.....

We stopped by his grave when we were in Boston in February. Adam thought the world of Scott, he was his hero. He was practically awestruck when he saw him in person at Thanksgiving. There are not many days go by when his name is not mentioned in our house.

I found the following quote and realized that it can't hurt to be reminded of the true acts of courage and sacrifice that gave us our earthly freedom.

An excerpt from a speech given by a French general to the American mothers who voyaged to France to visit the graves of their dead sons who had died at Normandy:

With sympathy and with reverence we greet you on the soil enabled by the blood of your courageous sons, whose sacrifices have created a bond between us which can never be broken. The world cannot measure your tragic loss. You have suffered in silence and alone with courage and love. You have given to the Great Cause something more precious than your own life blood. The altar of freedom is wet with your tears.
