"Landon is clearly the youngest child who is very adored by his family and they love to do things for him, because...... he does not like to do things for himself. " She shared an example with me: He asked the teacher to do something for him and she replied "I wouldn't be a very good teacher if I just did that for you, would I? I'll show you how to do it then you can do it." He thinks for a second and says,"no, that's okay, you can just do it."
for the record: he IS adored, for sure, but I don't think they consciously do things for him out of adoration; rather it happens because it is easier than slowing down and showing him. We'll have to work on that.

Boy! sure wish I had a teacher like that.
won't do it, eh? well, I'll just pick you up by the ears, parade you in front of the class and make you sit under the table until you CAN do it on your own.
true story, although I didn't pee my pants that time. That was the time I bit Joey Trefall and got a spanking. THEN i peed my pants. er, long johns, actually. Funny thing is, it kind of smelled like hot chocolate. I was too traumatized to offer anyone an explanation.
small child -"Mark, why do you smell like HC?"
Me -"whuu?" slight head shiver and a 1000 yard stare.
Marg -"MARK!, your bus is leaving!"
HA! good times Mo. Great stories.
I'll never be able to look at hot chocolate the same way again. Kiddin. I wonder if that was second grade by any chance. The most traumatic year for most kids at WCS!
Thanks for your comments, wish you guys were coming!
