I have been trying to learn the fine art of crochet. That scarf is bunch of relatively easy granny hexagons. So I have been practicing on some yarn I had bought last year. Garish yarn, I might add. Not eye candy like the scarf at all. It is also really cheap yarn so it can be a little frustrating working with it. Anyway- I did manage to learn to make a granny square. After finishing it (very pleased with myself) I then looked at a YouTube video on Granny Squares and found out I was doing it wrong, (adding one chain to the end of my double crochet). Since the yarn is not really worth using again, I was about to throw the square away when Maura asked me if she could keep it. Here is where I found it the next day. It's a snow cap for her America Girl doll. It does give it a certain ethnic flair!
