A day out and about with Gord- in Pixels.

With the kids safely in their classrooms and arrangements made for their safe retrieval from school, Gord and I set out on a jaunty afternoon drive. We went to the NW corner of Connecticut and into Massachusetts. The area is very scenic, hilly and rural with two lane roads and the occasional slowly moving tractor.

We made some stops along the way because:

Which was okay with me, because I had my long awaited for Pumpkin Spice latte and Ravi Z. on the iPod, so what did I care? Besides, I actually took some pics too.
This was perhaps an old mill- it is in Granville, MA and Gord took lots of pics of it too.

We came across an abandoned general store, right in the town center, next to the churches below. I can't imagine why they leave it like this but it was fun to shoot pics of it.

These church buildings reminded me of the Three Bears- Papa Bear, Mama Bear and Baby Bear. The little one even looks like he is really happy.

And then these happy little flowers, trying to peek over the fence. One made it and the others have a week or so to go and they'll be slightly disappointed by their view :)

The days have been busy here since school started. Thankfully, everyone is happy with their teachers and homework level. People are buying airplanes again so that is another thing we are thankful for! I've been working afternoons at the office where I've worked off and on for the past 19 years and will be most likely working full time again there next fall.

Quick Landon story: He was talking on the phone with Gord and asked Gord if he wanted to talk to Sapphire. Of course Gord said yes, so Landon goes to the doorbell and rings it, knowing that Saff will start barking. As she starts barking, Landon says to Gord, "there ya go, we got our money's worth out of that one!"

He took a huge spill today, turning his face into the steel door just as it was opening. Now there is a huge goose egg/bruise on it right above his right eye. Just in time for school picture day tomorrow. All of his major incidents seem to be on his forehead. But like Adam said, "without a head wound the school picture wouldn't represent the real Landon."
