Today, he was "scaring" me with his monster sounds but relented because I was not paying very close attention. He came over and said "Mom I am sorry for scaring you, that was just a reaction of me." And yesterday walking into a store I asked him if he was chilly and he said "a little of bit".
It reminded me of Maura when she was little waking up from her nap and saying "I woke upped".
Part of me wants that to last forever. Selfishly, of course. The kids want to grow up and FAST.
It was so long ago, but I still remember my siblings talking like that. Sometimes those memories flash back to me like I was there in that exact moment again. Leanne, a tiny little curly haired tot, would stop my dad as he was going down the stairs and say "Dit day Daddy" meaning "sit there Daddy" and he would sit on the top step for her to climb onto his shoulders and carry her down the stairs. I also remember coming home from school one day and seeing her with pigtails. Two curly pigtails about an inch long, high up on her head. That was seriously one of the cutest sights I have ever seen.
I might also add that I watched Mark tumble down the full set of stairs a few times. Definately more than once. Mom happened to hear it or see it once and was horrified, and I can imagine very scared that he had damaged something or other. But Barry and I were unfazed, telling her "he always falls down the stairs!"
When I was home for the month before I got married, I was spending the days with Ashley who was 2 years old and who said "Fee-haw" instead of sweetheart. So guess what I called Gordie on our honeymoon and for several years after that. "Fee-haw" Can you imagine anything more romantic? I think he secretly liked it though.

I was JUST thinking tonight that I need to get out the old journal and start writing down the things my two year old says. Fee-haw - that is priceless! My favorite that mine says in "shut ta doh" - shut the door. I love how they speak and wish I could bottle it up for a rainy day when they are teenagers!
