Columbus Day

David, the homework addict, getting a fix on the stairs. You just can't drag that boy away from his homework. He appears to be quite prepared too, I see he has brought along his American flag pillow to protect his spine. That's the Boy Scout in him.....

Pumpkintown USA:

Landon wrote all over himself in meeting one night. The markings you see are his controllers, the "power switch" and stuff like that.

An early morning cuddle on the couch before school.

Pretending to be dead:

Cute little airplane landing in the back yard. I think it is an Aeronca Champ. *think**

an uncommonly beautiful sunrise

We had a great Columbus Day (today for all you Canadian readers) and we had the unique opportunity to spend it with Vicki and Brian. We went out for breakfast to IHOP then did some shopping, came home by 3 and the kids still had plenty of time to play outside. Landon left IHOP with Grandma and Grandpa, headed straight home to help Grandpa out a little bit. We were reveling in our freedom to sprint from store to store, texting, calling, meeting up, totally connected, getting it all done so fast. Let's face it, with Landon tagging along, we would have had some drag on the airflow so we were pleased with our decision to have him stay back with Grandpa. In all honesty, there were times when we admitted out loud that we were enjoying this short opportunity to get things done without the littlest man around. So imagine how we felt when we got home and found out that he had a fever and had laid around most of the time we had been gone. His temp is down now but I'm expecting it will rise a little tonight.
The kids have tomorrow off as well, so I took a vacation day to stay home with them. We have traditionally gone and picked apples and pumpkins on this day off so we'll do that in the afternoon. I plan to try and take my kids' picture tomorrow. As in all 4 of them, clean, sparkly and looking at the camera. I am so rusty with the camera, not really up for the challenge but it has to be done. Real photographers are so expensive :)

hmm, I have the day off tomorrow, where are you going? Maybe I should tag along.

Good idea on the power switch-- sometimes it would be useful :)
